Event Overview

SCRAPYARD HACKATHON was a two-day innovation event organized by YUP Initiative on March 15th and 16th, 2025. The hackathon brought together over 200 students from three schools:

Lycee Islamique de Rwamagana
APPEGA Gahengeri TVET School
St. Kizito Technical High School – École Technique St. Kizito

The event focused on fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving among young innovators through hands-on technical challenges and collaborative project building.

Participants worked in teams to develop solutions to real-world problems, showcasing their skills in technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Food and refreshments were provided throughout the event to ensure participant wellbeing.

At the end of the hackathon, winning teams were awarded for their outstanding performance, creativity, and innovation.
